dvb warning: no lock, tuning again

Hi there, i'm a newbie to streaming. I have installed the VLC software from the site (automatically) and have just tried the basic 'wizard' for streaming. I have a usb DVB stick (not a tv card) and am running Opensuse.

Once i have run the wizard i get the following in the message box:

dvb warning: no lock, tuning again
dvb debug: using inversion=2
dvb debug: using bandwidth=0
dvb debug: using fec=9
dvb debug: using fec=9
dvb debug: using transmission=0
dvb debug: using guard=0
dvb debug: using hierarchy=0

This just repeats again and again. Have i not set up something correctly or is there some other problem? I would appreciate any help please.

Thanks

Looks like you've not provisioned the right transponder settings to VLC.

Thanks for the reply.

I don't know how to find these out. Is this a difficult process? How do i find the settings for my setup?

Can anyone help please.

Hi,

What kind of antenna have you ? If your tuner doesn't lock, it maybe because the signal is not strong enough.
