Hello,
Is there any simpler steps to install vlc via ssh commands for CentoS 5?
And what are the files to upload.

Thank you.

installing packages via ssh is strange, you should use yum instead !

livna plans to do them for CentOS, with rpmfusion.org merge. But until then you might need to rebuild vlc and others dependencies (including compat-wxGTK =< 2.6.x ) from the rpm.livna.org/fedora/6/SRPMS ...

Ok this seems harder than I thought.
I've VLc 8.0.1 which can easliy be install without all the plugins by doing

tar zxvf vlc-install-utf8-pid-getport.tgz

I don't understand why new versions aren't as easy to install?

Can anyone install it for me on the server rather?

Thanks
