drag&drop subtitles - pause function problem

Hello guys....
I have this very strange problem. I use newest Ubuntu and newest vlc (installed by add/remove).
Using vlc for playing videos works. But when I add subtitles to movie (using mouse - drag & drop), subtitles appear correctly, but when I click pause button, subtitles stops, but movie is going normaly forward! I can't stop the movie by pause/play button. when I use spacebar key for pause/play - also pause/play osd appears in right upper corner of window (using by button it won't), but movie can't be stopped.

when subtitles are named like movie with "srt" extension - they are run with running a movie automatically, everything works perfectly! but I am searching for soft under linux which will be able to dynamicaly add subtitles by drag&drop and only vlc can do that.

can anyone confirm this bug when using drag&drop subtitles?

Thank you

When someone send a patch, as usual.

:) No offence, I have dealed with very bad software programs, but authors were always willing to repair bad code.
Year and half, and still no improvement, I really don't know...

Well, this is open source and we are severly short-staffed.
