vlc install issues on suse 10.0

Following stepby step instructions on http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-suse.html,I've added the videolan repoository and the gpg key successfuly.Now when i run the install from Software Mgt. in YAST i get the following message.
"#### YaST2 conflicts list - generated 2007-12-05 23:43:26 ####

vlc-0.8.6c-1.pm.3.i686[20071202-001748] cannot be installed due to missing dependencies
There are no installable providers of libdbus-1.so.1 for vlc-0.8.6c-1.pm.3.i686[20071202-001748]
Conflict Resolution:
( ) do not install vlc
( ) Ignore this requirement just here
Is there any step i am missing..?

You're trying to install VLC from the PackMan repository (visible at the .pm in the name).
We can not support this.

Please try disabling the PM repo while instaling vlc and report eventual errors back.

Disabled the packman repos and this is what i get,

vlc-0.8.6d-4.1.i586[20071201-235113] cannot be installed due to missing dependencies
There are no installable providers of libavcodec.so.51 for vlc-0.8.6d-4.1.i586[20071201-235113]

( ) do not install vlc
( ) Ignore this requirement just here

When i do an arch at the command line i get i686,maybe i need the right architecture binary for my system..?any advice on getting that done correctly..?
