Hello
I just want to use VLC on my new UBUNTU.
First I have to download it.
I arrive on a page full of "how to install it".
But I need to get it first.
The only link I found goes to the UBUNTU page to download UBUNTU.
As a moron, I really need help.
Thank you.

Hi rémy78210!!

I haven't used Ubuntu for a while - can't remember whether the "Universe" packages are required to install VLC, but assuming that they are not:

Go to, in GNOME:

Code: Select all

Applications >> Add/Remove...
Then search for "VLC" and tick it to to add it to the list of applications to install. Then select "Apply".

VLC should then be available in:

Code: Select all

Applications >> Sound & Video >> VLC media player
Hope that worked/helped!!

Arite.

Just open a new terminal and try...

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install vlc
