Mono file->Stereo output?

Hi,

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I just cannot find the solution

I have a mono audio stream and play it to my headphone. Unfortunately, vlc doesn't play the mono stream on both of the channels, I only have sound on the left channel, the right one is quiet.

So how can I tell vlc to copy the left channel to the right when playing mono sources?
