Need help with suse 10.1

ok im newish to linux and i want to install vlc under suse 10.1 i just installed a fresh copy of suse and i went to vlcs website and followed the instructions in yast but i have had no luck i found a couple of rpms but also no luck can anybody help me

Hi,

for suse, you don't have to worry about rpms and dependencies yourself.

Please follow the instructions on http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-suse.html and add an installation source using yast2. after that, in yast software management, you can select VLC in the list and let it install, including all the dependencies.

Sometimes for 10.1 I've seen some deps missing, please be sure to have added an online repository as well (as marked on the right side on the above mentioned link)
