vlc really support qte?

Dear all,

I just suspect whether vlc support qte...

I am using qte-2.3.10. When I configure it by --enable-qte, it ends up "Cannot find QT Embedded development headers". It is the situation when I use vlc-0.5.2
When I use vlc-0.8.6a, it just told me the present of qt.h but couldn't be used. What the hell!

But if I config with --enable-qt, it hasn't error. And I need to manually correct the Makefile to add -lqte and -lqpe to it. This works in qvfb. Howver, I don't think it would be a solution for cross compilation as it needed -lqt to compile.
qt/x can't be cross compile to arm plateform. It is really contradict if vlc desire it in cross-compilation.

1. What header vlc looks for when I use --enable-qte?
2. What version of qte vlc needs?
3. Any successful experience can refer me to read?

The qte interface wasn't maintained since like the Clinton administration (well, it's a bit newer, but almost), so it won't work on recent linux distributions without further adjustments.
