Although i manage to install VLC i was unable to load subtitles. I tried to load the subtitle file from the open file menu but i didn't showed. In the video options menu there was a Track1 which was ticked and still there are no subtitles. After plenty of reading in the forums i started looking in the preference subtitle/ocd menu and there located the subtitle folder then i activated the Freetype2 subtitle render and in the overlay also, but still i was unable to view them. pls give some advice.

I've tried with different truetype fonts but no success. I can't find how to change subsitles charset or encoding - my subtitle files are in bulgarian i.e. cyrillic charset.

In the preferences, tick advanced.

Or when you open advanced file, you can choose special encoding.

Hi when I set charset to CP1251 from open file advanced settings all works fine. The problem still exist when I open file directly or via playlist. I can't find how to make all subtitles to use CP1251 charset. I don't want to set this for each file.
