Hi all,
is ti possible to embed VLC into an application?

How about license in this case?

How about mp4v and x264 licenses?
Is there a problem if i wish to use them (+ VLC) in a commercial product ?

Thanks a lot !

try first to find out about your basic audio and video technolgies (MPEG, mp3, sources, GNU) and be shure that you don`t harm copyrights from developers, programmers or whatsoever (intellectually and materially)

Read this: http://www.fsf.org/licensing/essays/free-sw.html

Good Luck

VLC (and x264) are released under the GNU GPL license. So if you integrate them in a software the software has to be released under the GPL license

if you don't intergrate it in, but use say vlc for displaying a video (by making calls to the command line) then it doesn't violate the GPL right?
