Newbie Installing VLC on Fedora 5

Hello,
I am new here. I am installing VLC on Fedora 5 but this error log comes up:

Missing Dependency: rtld(GNU_HASH) is needed by package vlc
Missing Dependency: libavcodec.so.51 is needed by package vlc
Missing Dependency: libsysfs.so.2 is needed by package vlc
Missing Dependency: libavformat.so.50 is needed by package vlc
Missing Dependency: libdvdnav.so.4 is needed by package vlc
Missing Dependency: libgnutls.so.13 is needed by package vlc
Missing Dependency: libpng12.so.0(PNG12_0) is needed by package vlc
Missing Dependency: libtar.so.1 is needed by package vlc

Missing Dependency: libpostproc.so.51 is needed by package vlc
Missing Dependency: libavutil.so.49 is needed by package vlc

hi Trikkedaddy,
your system should have ffmpeg libraries installed to get rid of this error.
you can checkout ffmpeg source code from website http://ffmpeg.mplayerhq.hu/
It works for me.
