Hi,
i used VLC for Windows before, but now i use Xubuntu(a special version from Ubuntu for low end pc's).
I got to videolan.org>download>ubuntu linux
I readed the instructions, but Xubuntu is also space-efficient, so the package isn't included :(
Is there another way to get it?
Thx and sorry for my English,

i installed it a while ago in xubuntu so don't remember exactly the procedure, except that it was more complicated than described on the page you mention.

i vaguely recall something about vlc being in the "multiverse" or "universe" repositories, which contain unofficial or non-free packages. The easiest way to enable these is to use synaptic (can be found in the xfce menu under "system") rather than apt-get.

Launch synaptic and then select [settings/repositories] from the menus. Then add the multiverse and universe repositories. I've just looked at mine and i've got the following videolan entry in the list as well, i'm not sure if i use it or not though.

http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/dapper-i386

hope this helps.
