Random green lines in some video files in VLC

I am running VLC 0.8.6 on OpenSuSE 10.2. I downloaded the VLC package from the videolan repos.

In some videos, I get this odd green line at one edge of the video. Sometimes it is on the bottom and sometimes its on the right. When I switch to another output module besides the default, the green line goes away.

Anyone know what's wrong?

I have the same problem. This happens only with XVideo output, but I can't change it because it is fastest solution for me. I have broken picture with X11 and the GLX output is too slow for watching 1080p movies.

Sometimes it's goes after disabling GPU acceleration. In this particular case it helps for the second movie (The Bourne Identity), but first still has this green line.

That has "buggy XVideo driver" written all over it.

MPlayer doesn't display this line when using the same XVideo driver. And what you plans about vdpau video output, if not a secret?
