Linux install with VLC only

Postby joostvdl » 13 Oct 2006 17:33

Hello

I want to create a VLC player based on a VIA SP-13000 board. It has to run a very minimal Linux with only VLC on it. It will be used as a streaming player.

Has anyone done this before? And what suggestions can you give me to create such a setup? Something like Linux From Scratch (LFS)??

Well, you could use a LFS, but building vlc needs a lot of 3rd pary libs that you should also compile. But this would be the best to have a minimal version.

A distribution like debian is too much for you, ain't it ?
