I tried to open a dxgm video, and it says
In my case, I like to watch World of Warcraft Intro
"[00000301] main decoder error: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `DXGM'."

But mplayer, opens OK.

Tnx, very nice job,
Adonay

For some reason, Blizzard likes to invent new fourccs for XVID/DIVX.

I'm getting the same issue with VLC Player 0.8.6c on Mac OS X, for both World of Warcraft intro movies (Base & Expansion), as of July 2007:

main: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `DXGM'.
VLC probably does not support this sound or video format.

I think this used to work - I know I watched them before on this Mac, although I did reinstall some software after a HD failure & restore from backup, I may have had a 3rd party Codec at the time.

Same question: please upload a sample and post back here when it's done uploading.

Done - it's in the DXGM (Warcraft Intro) folder.

Thank you!

File moved to ftp://streams.videolan.org/streams-vide ... BC_800.avi (if anyone wants to try it).

This 1/ doesn't work with the 0.8.6c build on debian sid and 2/ works great with my development build which is using a recent ffmpeg version.

Could you try a nightly development build? If it still doesn't work I'll try to investigate.

Il have also tried and it does not work with vlc-0.8.6c and it works well with vlc-0.9.0 (6 weeks old). However, this is not an issue of the ffmpeg version since I have compiled both vlc-versions myself (in Suse 10.1) and they use the same ffmpeg version (about 8 weeks old). This must a problem inside vlc to recognize this format or not. Maybe a vlc-0.8.6d could change things if this is not a too big modification ?

I think I added the FourCC for this one in the trunk version. Most of the changes can be backported, I think.
