Cannot rotate H.265 videos

Postby H4rryM3ss » 16 Jul 2024 01:41

I cannot rotate H.265 videos if hardware acceleration is enable. If I disable hardware acceleration, I can rotate them but they are not watchable, as they present a lot of artifacts.

The rotation option is enable but does not take effect. Here the screen just to illustrate what I'm talking about.

I can rotate other videos with different encoding. The problems is with H.265 specifically.

These videos are captured with my Samsung S23 phone. They are 4K HUD.

I'm on Debian 12, but it happens on other Linux box as well. I'm using the proprietary Nvidia drivers.

You can't have the cake and eat it. Hardware acceleration is not compatible with software filters (and nobody has rewritten the filters to work on GPU).
