Media | Open Capture Device I Video Camera Record Settings ?

Postby EasyDawg » 21 Mar 2024 17:13

1. I'm trying to find the settings to record my Logitech 920 Webcam in VLC.

The support instructions only cover Win/Mac OS's and my drop downs do not show "Direct Show" under Capture Mode.

My Linux Setting Options show "Video Camera"

Device Options are "/dev/video0" or " /dev/video1"

Options for Video Standard are many. Which one would I use?

2. I also see there are Blue Screen settings. I definitely need a Green Screen type recording.

Is there a link for all of these settings unless someone can tell me here?

The settings are just the V4L2 device controls, the same as on every other Linux application. It wouldn't make much sense to replicate the V4L2 documentation, and in any case, nobody wants to do it.

Okay yeah I don't really need it quoted here but a link or something would be helpful since I don't know what V4L2 device controls are.

I fairly new to Linux but there is no turning back.
