No Media Library in VLC4/Linux (sometimes)

If I install VLC4 from the Snap store, I get a Media Library Icon and the library, and the library works correctly. The Snap source has the pre-RC1 version of VLC4.
If I install from the normal Discover source, it installs the newest RC1 version of 4, and I have no way to enable the library, including the "Media Library" icon not being present in Preferences.
Anyone have any thoughts?

Does Videolan monitor these forums?

Really? All of you smart people out there and no one has an answer to this?

I am having this exact same problem. And apparently no, Videolan does not monitor these forums.
My best guess is that something broke in the newest beta version that is not broken in the version installable from Snap. So, apparently instead of making progress on the never-ending beta, they are actually losing progress.

So, you are having the "exact same problem" as your own self. Schizophrenia much?
And there is no RC1 of VLC 4 yet. It should come to as no surprise that nobody has answers for questions that don't seem to make sense.
