Cam analog + Easycap + Ubuntu + VLC : no capture

I am looking to transfer video from a small camera.

Working environment:
JVC GR-D720E
Easycap (usb key)
Ubuntu 22.04
VLC

On VLC I try to capture the stream by
"Open a capture device".
"Analog TV"

I am stuck for the moment on, it seems, the definition of the video standard, ... But is it really the case ?

lsusb :

Code: Select all

... Bus 002 Device 002: ID 1c88:0007 Somagic, Inc. SMI Grabber (EasyCAP DC60+ clone) (no firmware) [SMI-2021CBE] ...
v4l2-ctl -n :

Code: Select all

ioctl: VIDIOC_ENUMINPUT Input : 0 Name : loopback Type : 0x00000002 (Camera) Audioset : 0x00000000 Tuner : 0x00000000 Standard : 0x0000000000000000 () Status : 0x00000000 (ok) Capabilities: 0x00000000 (not defined)

v4l2-ctl -I :

Code: Select all

Video input : 0 (loopback: ok)

Here is the VLC log:

It looks like your unofficial V4L2 driver is badly broken and fails to indicate what video format it supports.

Well ... Tanks ... Don't understand why, it's a new istall for the driver.

Ok I give up. I had an old wirefire card, I just placed it in my computer and it's working fine in command line.

Tanks for your suggestion.
