VLC does not find a renderer (macast)

Postby timattrn » 20 May 2022 04:12

VLC under Playback -> Renderer finds my Chromecasts and Google Home devices.
However, I have a dlna renderer running on my media pc (linux). From my phone, Bubble UPnP discovers it and I can stream to it. It runs an SSDP service and there are no errors reported by macast.
VLC does not see it as a renderer.

is there anything I can do about this?

What is your VLC version and is the UPnP plugin installed?

It wasn't me to report, but it still doesn't work.
May I refer to https://askubuntu.com/questions/88754/u ... mendations for details; better than writing up everything all over again?
I'll be willing to help, but I can't code/compile.
Here it is 3.0.16, kubuntu minidlna; anything else immediately sees the remote renderer. There is no firewall in between. Same with BubbleUPnP as OP.
