I guess you mean the "fingerprint" button?

the button is only visible if the file is a local file (this seems to be the case on your screen shot) and if you have a fingerprinting module installed (usually chromaprint)

can you run this command?
vlc --list | grep chromaprint
this should give you something like
VLC media player 3.0.17.3 Vetinari (revision 3.0.11.1-1209-g8f6ec51cd0)
stream_out_chromaprint Chromaprint stream output

Missing ChromaPrint binds to VLC at all, but independent packages repsectively for VLC and ChromaPrint are never removed

Code: Select all

% vlc --list | grep chromaprint VLC media player 3.0.17.4 Vetinari (revision 3.0.13-8-g41878ff4f2) %

Without the module ‘‘stream_out_chromaprint’’ found on the VLC lists, but with independent packages for VLC and ChromaPrint installed, and why is that module missing?

Because the VLC Chromaprint module is not installed.

That depends on your distribution or package repository, unless you mean to compile yourself. I am not personally familiar with Artix.
