VLC pins CPU when dataloss occurs.

Hi Guys,
I am running VLC on mandrake 2005. My stream is an mpeg4 multicast using a52 as the audio codec. Everything is fine in my test lab until dataloss occurs. I am running some tests for a project which causes high dataloss on the network. Unfortunately when this occurs vlc uses 99.9% of my cpu. This freezes the video playout and I have to manually reset VLC. Any suggestions on avoiding this issue?
