Crash since 3.0.7 on some Blu-Rays / audio related

Hello,

I'm using VLC on Linux Mint 19. Since the last security update (to 3.0.7 in the end of July) I experience the following problem: Blu-ray playback crashes VLC during loading the main menu after the Intro (tested with several Star Trek TNG discs). This happens no matter if I play the disc directly or a backup from a hard drive. This problem is audio related: After disabling audio (completely in the settings, mute does not help) the disc is played fine (of course without sound). The problem occurs no matter if I select PulseAudio out or ALSA out, but dummy out works. I assume the problem is somehow related to a switch in the channel layout: Before the animated main menu starts, there is the DTS HD Master Audio Trailer in 7.1, but the menu is in stereo.
Error messages on the terminal are:
vlc free(): corrupted unsorted chunks
or
corrupted size vs. prev_size

I noticed another glitch on this issue: When watching TV (DVB-S streaming source) and I mute the sound, it often automatically turns back on when the ads are starting (and back to mute when the show continues). The ads are are always broadcasted in DD 2.0, while the shows are often in DD 5.1. Works the other way round as well (in that case it's accidentally a nice feature).

I reverted back to an older version I found in the Ubuntu repositories (3.0.1), everything works fine again. I'm not sure what version was the latest in Linux Mint 19/Ubuntu 18.04 LTS in June, but back then it still worked.

Is this something I can fix with a setting or is it a bug in VLC?

Best regards
Stefan
