VLC on PI - Possible to Start/Stop Schedule - Steaming

Postby psychoshaft » 30 Jan 2019 13:21

Good Morning Everyone,

Does anyone know if its possible to Schedule a steam to start at A Time (e.g 7:30am) and end at B time (5:00PM) every day? on a RPI? using VLC or any other software.

i am currently using a Rpi to steam a radio station inside a showroom at my work, however after a few days the steam will stop so it has to be manually started again. We are also on a metered connection so if we can reduce the bandwidth this would also be great.

i found a interesting plugin for its only for Windows/MAC called (https://github.com/EugeneDae/VLC-Scheduler)

i would be very grateful for any input and love to know about your success doing this.

Kind Regards

Paul

It looks like the scheduler you linked to is written in python. It should work fine on Linux (reading the readme, it seems there are instructions even). Let me know if you run into trouble with it.
