Icon in system tray disappears

I'm running VLC 3.04 vetinari on SuSe Tumbleweed (German localized), KDE Frameworks 5.53.0, Qt 5.12.0

Normally, the VLC icon is visible on the system tray, and I can use it to let the VLC window disappears even from the window list.
But sometimes when I went into the settings menu of the system tray the VLC icon disappears, and the window where I can edit the visibility options of Programs ("Einträge" tab in the settings window, don't know the English name) is just a list of blank entries, so I can not do anything about that apart from logging out and re-logging (i.e. leaving X/KDE and starting it again).

I'm not 100% sure the scenario I described is the only one,and I have no scenario where it appears every time, my impression is that this bug only appears intermittently ...

I never before had any such problem, only after I started to use VLC some weeks ago. So it has to do something with VLC.

Anything I can do about that?

This is more of a KDE question... maybe not the best place to get help.

Thx for answering.

Where is a better place to ask/report?

OK, I found out bugzilla, reported the issue, and with the next update the bug disappeared. Mail and other problems (no connection to VLC) caused me not to answer here earlier.

Rémi Denis-Courmont, thank you for your hint.
