180° videos treated as 360°

Postby 3djake » 21 Dec 2018 02:22

Hi there,

I have been experimenting with VR videos.
360° degree videos seem to work fine in VLC 3.0.4.
How ever 180° degree videos are treated as 360°. Is this a known issue in the Linux version of VLC? I tested a 180° video on a Windows version of VLC and it worked as intended.

It would be really great to get this going as there are not any good VR video players on Linux.

I am pretty sure this is a bug so I filed a report but if some one else has got this working on Linux please let me know so I can add further information to the ticket.

Regards, Jake.

Same problem here, but on Windows. It's interesting how popular these videos are becoming despite being extraordinarily troublesome to deal with.

We don't support 180 videos yet. File a bugreport
