Full screen controls

Hi All,
Sorry if this has been aswered, I searched the forum, wiki and documentation and couldn't find any difinetive answer
I love VLC, it seems to be the most compatibe of all the Linux video players and has no real problems. One thing I can't figure out is how to get a control interface up when in full screen mode. Found something in a forum about moving the mouse to the top of the screen, but can't find any option to enabled that.
I know that there is some keyboard shortcuts in full-screen mode, but what I am looking for is a GUI with the volume, playback controls and maybe a progress slider, maybe have it appear when I move the mouse.. dissapear again when I dont move the mouse for a few seconds.. similar to most media players (Real, Windows Media etc)? Is something like that possible in VLC?
Thanks for your help
PS: Using Fedora Core 4 Linux, P4 3.2 Ghz, 2 GB Ram, NVidia GeForce 6600
