VLC 3.0 on Firefox 58 (Fedora 27 Cinnamon Spin).

Postby zethan191 » 11 Feb 2018 19:23

Hi there,

I believe Firefox 58 is using "HTML5 Media Player" for playing youtube.com's videos. My question to you is how I would be able to use VLC 3.0 within Firefox 58. Would you provide VLC 3.0 Firefox plugin soon?

My OS is Fedora 27 Cinnamon Spin.

Thank you.

Actually, it is so that Firefox no longer allows the VLC web plugin. So that would be a question for Mozilla, and the answer would be "no".

Would VLC team provide something else similar to plugin in the near future, however? Let's say something like VLC's Firefox 58 Container application, for example. I also notice VLC start experimenting with AV1, which is from Mozilla.

Thank you.
