Hi,
I use debian jessie and vlc:
Linux debian 3.16.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.16.43-2 (2017-04-30) x86_64 GNU/Linux

Code: Select all

~$ apt-cache policy vlc vlc: Installé : 2.2.5-1~deb8u1 Candidat : 1:2.2.1-dmo3+deb8u1 Table de version : 1:2.2.1-dmo3+deb8u1 0 500 http://www.deb-multimedia.org/ jessie/main amd64 Packages *** 2.2.5-1~deb8u1 0 500 http://ftp2.fr.debian.org/debian/ jessie/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 2.2.4-1~deb8u1 0 500 http://security.debian.org/ jessie/updates/main amd64 Packages
A brief description of the problem:
I switch off the computer when the vlc mute is on.

Then I switch on the computer and I read a video file with the computer application called Vidéos; the video picture is regular but there is no sound.

I run vlc and the mute is always on.
I switch off the mute; the sound is regular for vlc but there is no sound when the computer application called Vidéos reads the video file.

My solution:
I switch off the computer.
I switch on the computer and the mute is off.
I can read a video file with Jessie Vidéos; the sound is regular.

Your suggestions are more than welcome to fix the mute problem.
Ciao.
