VLC crashes when I try to "Convert/Save" Network stream

On my Android smartphone, I have an app called IP Camera. The Android phone and my Linux Mint computer are connected by an ad-hoc network (hotspot) I created on the Linux computer.
There is no problem if I choose VLC>Media>Open_Network_Stream (Ctrl+N).
But VLC crashes if I choose VLC>Media>Convert/Save (Ctrl+R) > Network tab.
Please know that the network URL is the same for both. Why does VLC crash?
Here is what terminal shows when I do Convert/Save Network:
