fedora: No Blu-Ray menus, because java was not found

Postby maeries » 20 Oct 2016 20:45

Hi,

I'm running fedora 24. When I play a blu-ray I get the message:
Java required: This Blu-ray disc needs Java for menus. Java was not found from your system. Disc is played without menus.
and the movie starts playing without showing the menu.

java-1.8.0-openjdk is installed; VLC version is 3.0.0-git Vetinary

Error has been already reported : [Bug 1380437] vlc cannot play BluRays with BD-J menus

The "Java-Error" with BluRays still exists on fedora 25 -
no problems with openSUSE Leap 42.1 or Windows 10 and actual vlc 3.0.0-git Vetinary
