compilation broken.

Hello,
Since a week, I'm not able anymore to compile vlc neither from git master branch nor from 2.2.1 maintainance branch.
Tail test-suite.log: FAIL test_libvlc_core (exit status: 139)
I'm quite sure it started with commit 1d92fdf (master branch) because reverting that one solves the problem.
My system: Linux, Debian Stretch.

Hmm, yeah. It breaks if your ALSA device hints lack the "default" choice.

VLC bug notwithstanding, your ALSA configuration should probably include the default device...
