i am working in vlc-0.8.2.....in linux and windows also
If anybody compile vlc-0.8.4. for linux
pls let me knows and give me the URL for download vlc-0.8.4.....for linux..

there is nightly build for debian sid. For other distro, i'm afraid you'll have to wait the release and then hopefully the guy of freshrpm will do a rpm.
