Can't Select Audio Tracks or Subtitles

Hi~

I'm running VLC on Ubuntu 15.04.

For whatever reason, I can't change between different audio tracks, subtitle tracks, or chapters while watching a video. When I try to select an audio track off the top menu bar, the "Audio Track" option is greyed out. Same with with "Video Track", "Sub Track", and "Chapter". This happens with any video I play: video files on my computer as well as DVDs (even with non-encrypted DVDs).

If I go to "Tools" > "Codec Information", VLC will show me there are multiple audio and subtitle tracks, so it does recognize alternate tracks exist. With DVDs I can select the Title, Chapter, Audio track, and Subtitle track when I open the DVD and access alternate tracks this way, but I would really love to be able to switch between chapters, audio tracks, and subtitle tracks on the fly.

I've already ran: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
I have also deleted VLC and its config files and reinstalled them. Didn't help.

Thoughts? Thanks so much (:

This is a known bug in Ubuntu appmenu.
