Decoder for XVID

Hi all,

I've installed VLC and it works fine except it will not play XVID video files. It complains about

main decoder error: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `XVID'.
VLC probably does not support this sound or video format.

I have xvid-1.1.0beta2 installed as well as xvidcore1.1.0beta2

Am I missing something

Did you install libffmpeg ?

ffmpeg is statically linked in the package I got
