I am continuosly facing the problem while playing the videofile from the vlc player,its playing the video perfectly but its unable to get proper skins for the player.
problem 1: Its unable to found the config file in /root/.vlc/vlcrc
problem 2: cannot load module `modules/gui/wxwindows/libwxwindows_plugin.so' (libwx_gtk2_xrc-2.6.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)
problem 3: skins2 interface error: No suitable dialogs provider found

1: just means you haven't saved any prefs yet. not important.
2: you wxwindows module for VLC is broken, because it cannot find the wxwidgets library. (perhaps you upgraded your wxwindows installation since you isntalled vlc)
3: you don't have wxwindows running, so you cannot create dialogs in the skins interface
4: You don't have vlc linked to libpng, and therefore it cannot open your png images.
