Hi All,

I try to install VLC from source code in FC3...
While I am configuring VLC...
It needs ffmpeg, libmad and wxGTK to be installed properly.
In order to installed wxGTK..I need to install gtk..however gtk required atk, pango, glib, cairo to be installed.
So, I installed each of them menually...
Unfortunetly, while install gtk2.8.3, I got erros..
here is the error messages:
==============================
gtk+-2.8.3/gdk/.libs/libgdk-x11-2.0.so: undefined reference to "pango_cairo_font_map_crate_context."
undefined reference to "pango_cairo_context_set_resolution"
undefined reference to "pango_cairo_show_glyph_string"
undefined reference to "pango_cairo_fong_map_get_default"
undefined reference to "pango_cairo_show_layout"
undefined reference to "pango_cairo_context_set_font_options"
===============================

I install pango and cairo succeffully!
why this happend?

Please give me some advice..thank you very much

Sounds like a problem with your distribution. We can't help much.

Hmm, while I configure Cairo, the following is the last several lines:

cairo will be compiled with the following surface backends:
Xlib: no (requires Xrender http://freedesktop.org/Software/xlibs)
Quartz: no
XCB: no
Win32: no
PostScript: no
PDF: no
glitz: no

the following font backends:
FreeType: yes
Win32: no
ATSUI: no

and the following features:
PNG functions: yes

How do you think? it seems that there are dependencies need to be install, isn't it? :roll:

I think it's about the similar problem with you.
and can you tell me how to install cairo?
which dependencies you selected?
Thank you.
