I like VLC a lot but it has some problems that made me stop from using it:
1.I can't watch dvb-t stream without random video corruption.
2.I can't record a remote stream (udp, rtp, rtsp..) without getting corrupted video, even if the video being streamed is perfect.
3.After some time I can't watch dvb-t without very often random video/audio corruption (especially on some channels), even if the signal quality/strength is very good (e.g. VLC can't play it properly while others can).
4.I can't record dvb-t stream perfectly, no matter the quality of the signal it will always write (and display) corrupted stream (i.e. decoder can't decode that part properly).
5.H.264 hardware decoding uses as much CPU as software decoding (i.e. no advantages at all).
I don't know if there are any setting to solve that problems in VLC. But I am sure it is VLC related because I am using an other program to watch and record dvb-t and only now I am getting "perfect" streams in both recording and watching (while VLC fails).
I tested other programs in same machine/conditions and those issues only happened in VLC. So, it can only be a problem with VLC. And those problems are not new.
