Hello,

my question is in the title. i'd like to know the command-line to play a video in vlc in TEXTp mode on linux.

Just run "unset DISPLAY" before you run VLC, I think.

is it possible to get the full command lines ?

thank you

do i have to type another command line after to retablish original settings ?

i tried unset DISPLAY but the video gets played in the terminal.

is it possible to watch it in the window of vlc ?

i'd like to try the same experience as youtube fool's day 2010

the first time i tried it worked but on the second time it fails.

i managed it, i wasn't in the right directory but on the terminal, it blends the output messages of vlc and the video
