Telnet/RC Interfaces

Hi, all, firstly: thank you for a great piece of software!
Secondly, what happened to the marq and logo options in the Telnet and RC interfaces? I used to be able to create a named marquee (marq@ABCD...) and change the marquee text through any of the remote interfaces. This seems not possible anymore, not even using oldrc/oldtelnet. What alternatives are there to achieve these effects from script???

Thank you for any suggestions.

Jörg

Mmmmh, so I presume, nobody is using it, nobody has noticed... I liked the fact that I could specify a target for margquees and logos. Surely, I am not the only one having used this functionality??? And, surely, there is another way to achieve dynamic marquees over video, but documentation doesn't really enlighten me on that!

@jhedtmann Have you found a solution to this problem? I want to achieve the same with VLC 3.0.x. I was able to with older 2.0.x version.
