The OSD shows the opposite state when muting sound on Ubuntu 13.10 with VLC 2.1.0 and Pulseaudio. On Alsa output it works fine, but I experienced a small delay, so I use Pulseaudio. When I mute the sound, the OSD shows 100% and when I turn the sound back ON, the OSD shows "Mute". Maybe it is just me, or my configuration files, or some bug in Pulseaudio, because I haven't heard it from anyone else ... does anyone experience this issue?

Hmm yes. There is a latency bug there. This should be fixed in VLC 2.1.1.

Ah, glad to hear that! And what about Pulseaudio? Is this a bug from their side? (OSD works the opposite way ...)

In this case the problem is within VLC.
