no sound streaming

Postby Instigater » 12 Aug 2005 10:21

I cannot get vlc to stream sound, I have bttv tunner which works, video is encoded and transmited to clients, but I cannot get sound translation working. Tested with tvtime, image and sound is a very good quality. TV tunner ir ATI Tv Wonder VE, so I cannot use digital sound feature, I have to select audio source as line-in from integrated soundcard. Sound can be recorded by arecord. vlc complains about no errors but still silent. I can hear sound when I play videofile localy but I cannot grab it from line-in. Also kmix was used to switch right recording inputs, tested every combination with no luck.
Here is the comand line:

Code: Select all

vlc v4l:/dev/video0:norm=pal:frequency=207250:size=320x240:adev=/dev/dsp:audio=0 --sout '#transcode{vcodec=DIV3,acodec=mp3,vb=384,channel=Line,scale=1,ab=64}:std{access=mmsh,mux=asfh,url=8080}'
