Hi,

I am having Ubuntu 12.0.4 where I have installed VLC Player. Now recently i have updated the VLC Player to 2.0.8 TwoFlower however the Firefox plugin still shows older version(2.0.5).How to update the VLC Web Plugin in Firefox/Chrome to latest version?

It points to the libvlcplugin.so file which seems to be for version 2.0.5.How to update this so file and the vlc web plugin along the same line?

Regards,
Vatsal

Thanks for the response but currently this package is not installed on my Ubuntu machine as following command to get version number/details for the package

dpkg -s npapi-vlc

gives output as below

Package `npapi-vlc' is not installed and no info is available.
Use dpkg --info (= dpkg-deb --info) to examine archive files,
and dpkg --contents (= dpkg-deb --contents) to list their contents.

We use VLC in Chrome browser on the Ubuntu 12.4.We have added "libvlcplugin.so" to "/usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/".
In such use case,is there any other way or steps to update the vlc plugin and related components?
