Using the acoustic fingerprinter in vlc-git

I have successfully compiled the git version of vlc against chromaprint:
Code: Select all
andrew@corinth:~$ vlc -l | grep finger
VLC media player 2.1.0-pre1 Rincewind (revision ef2377a)
fingerprinter Track fingerprinter (based on Acoustid)
but I cannot see in the vlc preferences or standard menus where I can activate an acoustic fingerprint search. Can somebody point me in the right direction?

Thanks for looking at this issue! When I look at the Media Information box I simply get the usual 4 tabs: General, Metadata, Codec & Statistics. I coulod see no option within those tabbed windows for the fingerprinter. My apologies if I am missing something basic.

Or are.
Just open media info when a -file- is opened.
Fingerprinting option should appear, giving you the ability to fill missing or overwrite meta info.
