Hi guys,
i have a little problem with the last release of vlc. After compiling without any errors I'm not able to use skins2. I receive a segmentation fault error from the console. I'm using linux slackware current with kernl 2.6.12.1. The strange thing is with 081 release always works. Have a nice day

Do you have error or warnings in the log, before the crash, when you run 'vlc -vvv -I skins2'?
Did you try resetting the preferences?

Hi,
I had the same type of problem.
Found that I was using wrong gtk2 version (Version too new for my Gnome system).
Solved by converting to my SuSE 9.2 standard gtk2 and gtk2-devel rpm's!

I am using for vlc-0.8.2:
gtk2-devel-2.4.9-10.1.i586.rpm

It was a kind of guessing to solve this problem...
