VLC 2.0.1 host file ubuntu

Hi I'm running vlc on xubuntu but can't find .host file to allow LAN connection to it
% find /usr/share/vlc/lua/http/ -name .hosts
/usr/share/vlc/lua/http/.hosts
/usr/share/vlc/lua/http/dialogs/.hosts
