which version VLC can i use on freeBSD platfrom

Hi All,

We have a plan to use VLC as server on freeBSD platform.Can we use VLC 0.8.6 verison.
And i have small duobt VLC use which media framework in linux gstreamer or any other media framework , in windows VLC uses directshow?.

please answer me, i am new to VLC.I hope i get answers to these questions.

Yes, you should be able to use 0.8.6 under BSD.

Under linux, VLC uses VLC as a framework, and under windows, too :D
