I compiled the 0.8.4a version. With this also the sound is garbled. This is what I get in the console if I play an ac3 encoded file:The last build that this worked correctly was 0.8.4a. See my post in viewtopic.php?p=95993#95993

Well i've used several DVDs with this so far with SPDIF. Are you using 5.1 analog or SPDIF?I compiled the 0.8.4a version. With this also the sound is garbled.
