very confused, how to search for TV program?

hi guys,
I've installed PVR 150 from hauppauge on my fedora 6 (clean install), I can open pvr with vlc and I can see the tv tuner untuned picture but the frequency setting doesn't work, how to do that?

ps: I installed vlc with yum, and I have another wintv-nova-s-plus on same box for satellite tv, if I want to do streaming with both, shall i re-install vlc with --dvb-s enabled or is it by default enabled with yum installation?

no one has ever searched for a program under linux? you all guys already know all frequency in khz detail?

I have a DVBs- hauppage nova s plus as well, i'm trying to broadcast into my network, but before I can do that i need to scan for frequency, vid, pid and other stuff.

Please help me.
