encoding of wmv / wma

Hello,

does anybody know if there is a way to encodce wmv with wma
under linux ?
I tried vlc for linux and vnc for windows with wine,
but both tell me that there is no wma codec ...

Do you have the w32codecs installed?

I think VLC can only use Win32 codecs to decode anyway, not to encode.

yes i have ..
i already tried almost everything
to get this working under wine, at least

but to no avail ..

the linux version uses ffmpeg for encoding,
and ffmpec does not support wma encoding ....
